The Winds of Change

The world is indeed a dynamic and changing place. Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong is being proved right again and again as he taught through the Scriptures, as at this moment the BBC is reporting on the celebration, of the addition, of ten more countries, now making the EU the largest trading block in the world. How awesome! Things are really coming together according to God’s schedule.

Let us remind ourselves, how Mr. Armstrong taught, that basically half of the nations would come from the east and half from the west. The two legs of Daniels vision (Daniel 2:33), represent the division of the Holy Roman Empire, to the east and to the west. As the Bible reveals there will be ten kings (Revelation 17:12), so it will be as some of these countries are blood brothers and effectively there will truly be only ten nations, five from the west and five from the east; the ten toes. As we have already seen it will be a fragile union due to their inability to walk together as one, but their common greed to gain rulership over the world will give them strength for a short time (Daniel 2:41-43).

The pride of America will not allow her to retreat from the worlds centre stage with all the spotlights blazing down on her! Europe dominated across two millennia of time, America with no one to stop her, feels in her mind this is her hour, her day, her time to ride the winds of change and direct her path to self-glorification and create future history in her image. One just has to listen to her politicians and military leaders to know the heart and mind of Manasseh’s mindset or vision for the world. But God has other plans (Proverbs 16:18)!

Very soon now we will witness the jigsaw puzzle come together and watch as world shaking events unfold before our very eyes as God's unseen but ever present hand maneuvers men and nations in place to fulfill his purpose in bringing about His will and finally the return of Jesus Christ to unleash the Day of the Lord and then restore the Kingdom of God on the earth.

World suspicion is strong, especially as more and more evidence is proven true about the unacceptable treatment of Iraqi prisoners by US and British forces. Iraq may be the initial instrument that begins the downfall of the US's dominance on the world’s stage!

Following soon after will be her economic downfall from severe internal elements such as weather upheavals, decadence and immorality of every kind from the head to the feet, pride, selfishness, greed, betrayal, abuse of the fatherless, and widows, and then famine, pestilence and diseases will occur as multiplied punishment (Amos 8:4-8). Unless she repents and turns to God it will happen as surely as the sunrises in the morning. But, as the sunrise brings forth light, energy and life to the earth’s surface, for Ephraim and Manasseh, alas! It will bring pain, suffering, sorrow and death for the wicked.

What frightening times awaits, just ahead of us now, what awesome events, what terrible ordeals for Ephraim and Manasseh, what thundering winds of change to grip Europe as she feels the adrenaline pumping through her veins to once again prepare herself for the dominion and rulership of the world!  

Will the United States stand by and let this happen? Will her pride be silent? Will she bow before this revitalized world-ruling power of old? Or, will the US try in her weakened state, (due to economics, famine and disease epidemics), to regain, or hold on to, this Number One position of world dominance and keep her worldwide stage role of the leading power, courting the world and finally becoming the catalyst that causes Europe to react?

Incredible, unthinkable things are about to unfold on the world scene, what momentous times we live in! The days of revelation are now here, our hope and glory will soon be among us! Let us be ready and strengthened with these thoughts, let us not tire or be weary for the battle of supremacy has not yet climaxed for the true Philadelphians. 

We truly need as never before to be on our toes and not be caught unawares, for the time is coming and indeed has come when if it is possible, that even the elect will be or could be deceived if we are not watching and praying to be counted worthy to escape all these things. 

These are exciting times for God’s people, but not because of the great tribulation and the Day of the Lord. a time of woes, for as the Lord God said, “Why do we want to hasten the Day of the Lord? For it is a time of great distress on the people of the earth as there has never been before." These are exciting times because we know the final outcome of all these events for the people of God: Crowns and Glory and Honour with Power, Authority and Priesthood, with God’s perfect love in us, to eventually be given dominion over the infinite universe. Salvation will be brought to the whole world with 1000 years of peace, joy, abundance and the true worship and knowledge of God by all people of the earth then living.

This is what God’s elect are to rejoice about. Is it not wonderful? Isn’t it joyful and inspirational, for the zeal of the Lord of Hosts will accomplish it. Brethren, knowing all these things, we can never get too excited, never be too fired up at the prospect of everything we believe in finally coming to pass, for the sake of all people of the world.

Therefore Brethren, let us watch and pray always, and as Jesus Christ said, “To love one another as He loves us.”
